One Pot Garlic Shrimp and Asparagus Recipe

In the Life of KarmaDNA, this is our go to dish when we cannot decide what we want to eat something quick and healthy. Practically, it only has 2 main ingredients and instead of the parmesan and basil you can use different herbs. I switch it up with cajun blend or blackened blend of spice. I like to make mine own blends to make sure the spice mix is to my liking.

  • 2 lbs Large Tail On Shrimp
  • 1 lbs Asparagus
  • 2 Garlic Cloves minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Tbs Dried Basil
  • Pinch of Himalayan Salt
  • Pinch of Black Pepper

  • Dry the shrimp before placing it in the hot pan. This applied to all meat, unless you are making a stew type of dish.
  • I recommend  leaving the tail on. It adds more flavor. I score the back of the shrimp with a knife so it is easy to peel.
  • When shrimp shapes like a "C" you know it is done. If it is curving more and turning into  an "O" it is cooked too much and may be dry.

. Wash, clean and dry the shrimp.

2. Drizzle 2 table spoons of olive oil in large pan over high-medium heat. When the oil gets hot add the shrimp in the pan.

3. Mix the minced garlic, shredded parmesan, dried basil, and saute for 5 minutes on medium-high heat. Stir occasionally.

4. Snap the ends of the asparagus and get rid of the ends. Snap the asparagus in half and add it in the pot. Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir occasionally for 5 minutes.

5. Take it off the heat and serve.
